Program of the Eighth Campus Open Day for 2022 Postgraduate Admission of the School of Arts and Communication

The School of Arts and Communication of China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) takes discipline construction as the key and talent echelon construction as the support point, pays attention to the cross influence of computer information technology, emphasizes the infiltration of humanistic spirit in disciplines, adheres to the rigorous and realistic scientific attitude, and attaches importance to the deep integration of art, media and high-tech, to comprehensively improve the school-running level and the academic and scientific research level. The program of the eighth campus open day for 2022 postgraduate admission of the School of Arts and Communication is hereby notified as follows:

I. Qualification Required

The applicants should be fresh graduates from high-level universities in 2023 and must meet the following requirements:

1. Chinese citizens who are politically and ideologically competent, law-abiding, of good moral character, and physically and mentally healthy.

2. The comprehensive score ranks top 50% of the major; or have outstanding performance in other aspects, such as strong interest in scientific research, strong innovation ability and excellent academic achievements, etc. (they must provide relevant supporting materials such as scientific research achievements and competitions, as well as letters of recommendation from two experts with the title of associate professor or above in their field of study);

3. Excellent foreign language proficiency, CET-4 or other equivalent foreign language level.

II. Time and Schedule

1. Registration: From June 23 to 16:00pm on June 30, students can log in to the online registration system of CUG postgraduate admission information network (the campus open day registration system for postgraduate admission:  http://epo.cug.edu.cn/Open/ZsTkssXly/Signin.aspx for registration. Students should put the following documents into one PDF file and send the scanned copy to the email address before 16:00pm on June 30, and the package file should be named as “name - name of undergraduate school - name of applied major”. The application materials should be submitted to the email address. All students should send their materials to the mailbox yjs21@cug.edu.cn; if there is no relevant mail, it shall be regarded as a waiver of eligibility. Individual works can also be sent to the mailbox together, with the name of “name works”, and the size should not exceed 100M.

① One application form (derived from the registration system for double-sided printing on A4 paper) for 2022 campus open day activities of China University of Geosciences (Wuhan).

② Scanned copy of ID card and student card;

③ Undergraduate transcripts and major ranking information (copies must be stamped with the official seal of the academic affairs office or the school or department);

④ Scanned copy of CET-4 and CET-6 report card (or other English level certificates);

⑤ Other supporting materials (such as published papers, various award certificates, qualification certificates, etc.).

2. The campus open day will be on July 2.

III. Specific Schedule

Online interview will be adopted.

Note: the specific activities shall be subject to the on-site arrangement, please pay attention to the relevant notices.

IV. Talent Selection

1. Interview content: ideological and political quality and moral assessment, professional quality test, foreign language listening and speaking ability, practical (experimental) ability assessment, comprehensive quality evaluation, etc. The specific content of second-round examination and the use of results shall be determined in a scientific and standardized manner according to the discipline characteristics of our School.

The process includes five parts: candidate self-report, professional skills (on-site mini-quick test), expert questions, candidate answers, and expert scoring.

2. Interview score

Total score = interview score (60 points for professional knowledge assessment + 10 points for foreign language listening and speaking ability + 30 points for comprehensive quality and previous studies) (hundred mark system, accurate to two decimal places)

3. Students who have participated in the campus open day activities and passed the interview by admission unit: if he/she gets the qualification of recommended exam-free candidate from the graduating university and apply for the recommended exam-free candidate of our university through the recommended exam-free system of the Ministry of Education at the specified time (must be the same as the announced admission unit and major), he/she will be given priority to be admitted as a master degree candidate in 2023, and enjoy the first-class scholarship in the first year; or, if he/she takes part in the 2023 national master entrance examination and apply for our university as the first choice (must be the same as the announced admission unit and major), with the preliminary examination results reaching the score line for second-round examination of the admission unit, he/she will be given priority to be admitted after the second-round examination for 2023 postgraduate admission. In addition, the pre-selection of MD-PhD based candidates and master-to-doctoral candidates will be carried out among the students with recommended exam-free potential.

V. Points for Attention

1. If false registration materials or certificates are found, all qualifications obtained therefrom will be cancelled, and the School reserves the right to investigate.

2. Students participating in the open day activities must abide by the relevant regulations of China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) and participate in the activities according to the unified arrangement.

3. Epidemic prevention and control: The students should make preparation for personal protection according to the epidemic prevention and control requirements of their local place and the University.
