Program of the Seventh Campus Open Day for 2021 Postgraduate Admission of the School of Arts and Communication of China University of Geosciences (Wuhan)

The School of Arts and Communication of China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) takes discipline construction as the key and talent echelon construction as the support point, pays attention to the cross influence of computer information technology, emphasizes the infiltration of humanistic spirit in disciplines, adheres to the rigorous and realistic scientific attitude, and attaches importance to the deep integration of art, media and high-tech, to comprehensively improve the school-running level and the academic and scientific research level. The program of the seventh campus open day for 2021 postgraduate admission of the School of Arts and Communication is hereby notified as follows:

I. Qualification Required

1. 2022 graduates from high-level universities, with competent political thought, sound body and mind, positive ideals and observing law and discipline;

2. The comprehensive score ranks top 50% of the class; Or have outstanding performance in other aspects, such as strong interest in scientific research, strong innovation ability and excellent academic achievements, etc. (they must provide relevant supporting materials such as scientific research achievements and competitions);

3. Excellent foreign language proficiency, CET-4 or equivalent scores in other foreign language examinations.

II. Notes for Registration

1. Registration: From June 1 to June 20, students can log in to the online registration system of CUG postgraduate admission information network (the campus open day registration system for postgraduate admission: http://epo.cug.edu.cn/Open/ZsTkssXly/Signin.aspx for registration. Students need to complete the relevant information in the application system, including the graduate school, school applied for, prospective supervisor, etc. Whether the information is complete or not will be one of the conditions of the shortlisted notice.

2. Application materials:

(1) One application form (derived from the system for double-sided printing) for 2021 campus open day activities of China University of Geosciences (Wuhan).

(2) Scanned copy of ID card and student card;

(3) Scanned copy of CET-4 and CET-6 report card;

(4) Undergraduate transcripts and ranking information in the school or department (copies must be stamped with the official seal of the academic affairs office or the school or department);

(5) Other supporting materials (published papers, awards, etc.)

Note: Students from our University are only required to provide registration materials 1, 2 and 3, scan them into PDF files, and name them with “School name – registered major and code - Chinese name”. For students from other universities, please put the application materials 2-5 into a PDF file named withUniversity name – registered major and code - Chinese name”. All students should send their materials to the mailbox yjs21@cug.edu.cn; if there is no relevant mail, it shall be regarded as a waiver of eligibility. Individual works can also be sent to the mailbox together, with the name of “name works”, and the size should not exceed 100M.

3. The School of Arts and Communication will organize experts to review and determine the shortlist for the second-round examination. The shortlist will be published on the homepage of the School of Arts and Communication of China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) before June 23. If you give up the qualification for some reason, please inform our School 17:00 on June 25 (027-67883476). There will be no further notice to the students who are not on the published list.

IV. Talent selection

1. Total score = interview results (English: 20 points + comprehensive quality: 80 points) × 50% + written test (100 points) × 50% (hundred mark system, accurate to two decimal places)

2. Students who have participated in the campus open day activities and passed the interview and second-round examination organized by this School: if he/she gets the qualification of recommended exam-free candidate from the graduating university and submits an application to the admission unit, he/she will be given priority to be admitted as a master degree candidate (academic or professional) in 2022, and enjoy the first-class scholarship in the first year; or, if he/she takes part in the 2022 national master entrance examination and apply for our School as the first choice, with the preliminary examination results reaching the basic requirements for second-round examination of corresponding major, and agrees to adjustment, he/she will be given priority to be admitted. In addition, the pre-selection of MD-PhD based candidates and master-to-doctoral candidates will be carried out among the students with recommended exam-free potential.

V. Points for Attention

1. If false registration materials or certificates are found, all qualifications obtained therefrom will be cancelled, and the School reserves the right to investigate;

2. Students participating in the open day activities must abide by the relevant regulations of China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) and participate in the activities according to the unified arrangement.

3. Policy guarantee

(1) Accommodation: CUG will provide free accommodation for students from non-local universities during the specified period for open day activities (Note: No accommodation will be arranged for students whose university or family is located in Wuhan), and the accommodation time is July 1 to 2. Accommodation in non-designated hotel shall be paid by the students.

(2) Traffic: Students from non-local colleges and universities are requested to book their own round-trip tickets (second-class seat of EMU and hard sleeper). For non-local students who participate in the whole process of campus open day activities, the travel expenses to and from Wuhan will be reimbursed with tickets (Reimbursement shall be based on the regulations of the financial department of the University and the standards for postgraduates, and the round-trip tickets should be sent by post, with account number and bank, preferably ICBC).

(3) Catering: for launch on July 2, volunteers will be arranged to accompany students from other universities to the canteen in the North Campus.

4. After registration, the students are required to participate in the whole process and are not allowed to leave school without permission; otherwise the sponsor will not provide relevant funding.

5. Insurance: it is suggested that all students participating in the activity should purchase their own travel accident insurance.

6. Epidemic prevention and control:

The students should make preparation for personal protection according to the epidemic prevention and control requirements of their local place and the University. Students participating in the campus open day can enter and leave the university during the campus open day with their ID cards and the application form for the 2021 campus open day of China University of Geosciences (Wuhan).
