Program of the Campus Open Day for 2020 Postgraduate Admission of the School of Arts and Communication

In order to promote the exchange of outstanding college students from colleges and universities across the country and enhance their understanding of the School of Arts and Communication of China University of Geosciences (Wuhan), as well as selecting excellent undergraduates to study for master’s degree in our School, in accordance with the spirit of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council on COVID-19 prevention and control and the document of “Implementation plan of the 6th online campus open day of China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) in 2020” (ZDDYF No. 2020 (28), the School of Arts and Communication of China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) will hold the 2020 online campus open day for graduates admission on July 10, 2020 according to the requirements of health first and open communication. The details are as follows.

I. Applicants and application conditions

1. Outstanding fresh graduates of the year 2021 majoring in journalism, environmental science and engineering, and design from “double first-class” disciplines and provincial key universities.

2. Excellent academic performance, the total score of the first three years of undergraduate study ranked in the top 50% of the major in the same grade; or outstanding performance in other aspects, such as strong research and innovation ability, outstanding academic achievements, etc

3. Excellent English proficiency, reaching CET-4 or other foreign language examination results equivalent to this.

II. Application

Before July 5, the students should log in to the online registration system of the graduate admission information network of our university (registration system for campus open day: http://epo.cug.edu.cn/Open/ZsTkssXly/Signin.aspx), and send the “Resume of the applicant for 2020 campus open day of the School of Arts and Communication of China University of Geosciences (Wuhan)”  (see the attachment) and supporting materials to designated mailbox yjs21@cug.edu.cn. Only when the above two registration links are completed, the registration can be considered to be successful. Our School will organize personnel to be responsible for the preliminary examination on the candidates’ registration information. The list of students qualified for the open day will be publicized on the homepage of the School around July 7.

IV. Application materials

1. Candidates are required to fill in one copy of “Resume of the applicant for 2020 campus open day of the School of Arts and Communication of China University of Geosciences (Wuhan)” (see the attachment) and merge it into one PDF file, with handwritten signature (or insert a handwritten electronic signature). The name of PDF file is “applicant’s name + resume”.

2. Supporting materials: undergraduate transcripts, certificates, published papers (front cover, catalog, body, back cover), monographs, translated works or textbook (front cover, back cover, copyright page, or workload proof materials), approval form of scientific research (teaching research) program, expert recommendation letter and other supporting materials shall be merged into another PDF file according to the order of previous performance information table in the resume, and the file size shall not exceed 1G. The name of PDF file is “applicant’s name + supporting materials”.

V. Assessment content and score calculation

1. Online interview (totally 100 points): According to the requirements of the interview time of each admission unit, the candidates log in to the system 30 minutes in advance, complete the identity authentication and obtain the interview sequence number randomly assigned, enter the waiting area and enter the formal assessment stage. The formal interview assessment includes but is not limited to the self-statement, answering questions and expert questioning.

2. Score calculation : comprehensive result = online interview result.

3. The assessment time will be further informed by the platform.

VI. Selection

If the applicant is qualified in the interview and re-examination of our school, and the applicant obtains the recommendation qualification of exemption from examination from his/her school and applies to our school, he/she will be directly pre-admitted as a 2021 master’s degree candidate (academic or professional), and enjoy the first-class academic scholarship in the first year. If the applicants have not obtained the qualification of exemption from the examination, but have participated in 2021 national master admission examination and applied for our university as the first choice, and the preliminary examination results meet the basic requirements of the major for entering the re-examination in 2021, subject to the professional adjustment, they can be pre-admitted after passing the physical examination.
