Design Science Zhou Ziqin

Zhou Ziqin, born in November 1974, is now a lecturer in the Department of Digital Media Art, School of Arts and Communication, China University of Geosciences (Wuhan). He received the bachelor’s degree from oil painting major of Hubei Academy of Fine Arts and received the master's degree in design from Hubei University of Technology.

Scientific research achievements:

1. “Research on the application of Chinese traditional color culture in modern design”, the Fundamental Research Funds for the Central Universities, Outstanding Youth Fund, (Grant No. 2013189068), completed;

2. “Research on the graphic language expression of poster art”, university-level outstanding young teachers funding program (project registration No.: CUGQNW0916), completed;

3. “Zhongxiang Urban Planning” Exhibition Design, general program sponsored by enterprises and institutions (project registration No.: 2010186078), completed;

4. The design works won the bronze prize (design category) in the Second Art Exhibition for Colleges and Universities in Hubei Province (Hubei Provincial Department of Education and Hubei Provincial Department of Culture);

5. The art work won the silver award of " Art Panorama Cup" National Art Biennial Award; (Art Panorama);

6. “Flavor”, the packaging design of wine, won the excellent award in the First “King Silver Safety” Cup National Wine Packaging Design Competition (Package & Design)

Teaching achievements:

1. “Inheritance and innovation of Beijing Opera Art in modern design -- packaging design of Chinese chess” (author: Nie Jingwen), the bachelor’s thesis directed by him, was awarded 2011 excellent bachelor’s thesis of Hubei Province (Academic Degree Committee of Hubei Provincial People's Government, Hubei Provincial Department of Education);

2. “On the individualization of stationery packaging design - Application of cartoon image design in stationery packaging” (author: Rong Yanjun), the bachelor’s thesis directed by him, was awarded 2011 excellent bachelor’s thesis of Hubei Province (Academic Degree Committee of Hubei Provincial People's Government, Hubei Provincial Department of Education);

3. “Application of interactive design in food packaging - Packaging design of 85 ℃ pastry series” (author: Li Jing), the bachelor’s thesis directed by him, was awarded 2010 excellent bachelor’s thesis of Hubei Province (Academic Degree Committee of Hubei Provincial People's Government, Hubei Provincial Department of Education);

4. “Application of cartoon image in children's clothing packaging” (author: Liu Qian), the bachelor’s thesis directed by him, was awarded 2009 excellent bachelor’s thesis of Hubei Province (Academic Degree Committee of Hubei Provincial People's Government, Hubei Provincial Department of Education);

5. “On CD Packaging Design” (author: Jiang Xiaojun), the bachelor’s thesis directed by him, was awarded 2009 excellent bachelor’s thesis of Hubei Province (Academic Degree Committee of Hubei Provincial People's Government, Hubei Provincial Department of Education);

6. Fu Jiaqi and other ten students participated in the 24^th Times Young Creative Awards (Taiwan and mainland China division), and won the first prize of mainland China Division;

7. In 2016, he won the excellent advisor award in the 25^th Times Young Creative Awards (Taiwan and mainland China division);

8. Student Qin Tianyi participated in the 2018’China Creative Packaging Design Award,  the “Packaging Design of 52° New Wuliangye” (program sponsored by enterprises and institutions ZBWLY20171230 (1)) won the first prize and was selected into the national professional teaching resource library for vocational education of the Ministry of Education, No:ZXBKS2018082504590; (China Packaging Federation)
