Journalism and Communication: Liu Fujiang

I. Basic information

Liu Fujiang, male, Han nationality, associate professor, PhD, is the secretary of the Party branch of the Department of Surveying, Mapping and Remote Sensing, School of Geography and Information Engineering, China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) and a visiting scholar at the Department of Geography, University of Maryland, USA. He has successively served as the director of Hubei Science and Technology Communication Society, secretary general of Geomorphology and Quaternary Geology Science Communication Expert Team of Geological Society of China, director of Natural Education Branch of Wuhan Park Association, director of Remote Sensing Practice Education and Geoscience Popularization Base of China University of Geosciences (collaborative education project of the Ministry of Education), and science popularization research supervisor of China Science Popularization HIBL Alliance; he has been awarded the title of candidate for doctoral funding of Wuhan Municipal People’s Government, Wuhan 3551 Optics Valley Talent Program and Hubei Innovation and Entrepreneurship Strategy Team Talent. He has taken charge of and participated in more than 10 national and provincial scientific research projects, declared more than 10 national invention patents, applied for more than 20 software copyrights, published more than 50 academic papers, edited and participated in writing 5 monographs, and developed 3 standards.

He has won the Wuhan Excellent Popular Science Works Award, the First Prize of the First Popular Science Product of the Geological Society of China, the Hubei Excellent Popular Science Works Award, the Excellent Popular Science Books Award of the Ministry of Natural Resources (provincial and ministerial level), and the Third Prize of the Award for Science and Technology Progress of Hubei Province, etc.
