Design Science: Huang Ying

Huang Ying, born in 1970, native of Wuhan, associate professor and master supervisor of School of Arts and Communication of China University of Geosciences (Wuhan), Master of Arts in Traditional Chinese Painting of Hubei Institute of Fine Arts, visiting scholar in the School of Arts and Design of Alfred University, member of China Literature and Art Critics Association and Hubei Artists Association.

Field of research: Contemporary Chinese ink painting creation, illustration design and art management

Courses offered: Fundamentals of Design and Modeling (Sketch color), Calligraphy, Anatomy for the Artist, Contemporary Chinese Art History, Comprehensive Material Language, etc.

Exhibitions/papers:

Her works have been exhibited on many domestic and foreign art exhibitions and won silver, bronze and excellent awards. In recent years, she has held sole exhibitions (Images of China, South Window, Huang Ying & Duan Yan Exhibition) in the United States, Italy and China, and won the Hubei Provincial Excellent Prize for Literary Theory twice.

Under her guidance, the students’ paintings have participated in national and provincial and ministry-level art exhibitions and won prizes/been selected for many times.

She has published many works and papers in Literature & Art Studies, Hundred Schools in Arts, Academic Art (Hubei Institute of Fine Arts Journal) and other professional core journals, and the papers have been included in “Selected Works of Hubei Young and Middle-aged Literature Criticism”, “Hubei Popular Literature and Art Series”, “Hubei Youth Forum Collection”.
