Field of research:
Film and new media art, extended reality (XR) and interactive devices, 3D animation and special effects, geological 2D/3D/XR animation restoration and science popularization, design transformation of visual communication design and traditional art language under contemporary conditions.

Presided over the program supported by National Social Science Fund of China for Arts in 2017;
Presided over the 2019 Art Program of Philosophy and Social Science Research of Hubei Provincial Department of Education;
Participated in the program supported by 2018 National Social Science Fund of China and the art program supported by Humanities and Social Sciences Fund of Ministry of Education as the principal member;
Presided over and participated in 31 overseas programs including overseas scientific and technological cooperation projects of Hanban, key projects of State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs, National Key Basic R&D Program of China (973 Program), key projects of “985 innovation platform of the advantageous disciplines in the study of geological disasters in the Three Gorges Reservoir Area of the Yangtze River”, and Central University Fund project and various provincial and municipal scientific research projects;
Published 2 monographs, edited 5national arts textbooks for the 12th Five-Year Plan and the 13th Five-Year Plan, and published many academic papers;
The design works have been exhibited in art exhibitions at home and abroad, including the “Academy Space” Youth Art Exhibition of Hubei Provincial Department of Culture, Spoleto Art Festival sponsored by EU, and Art Works Invitation Exhibition of Rome University of Fine Arts.

He has been awarded the 6th “Three Education Model” of China University of Geosciences (Wuhan), “Touching the Heart of CUG Good Party Member” among the staff of China University of Geosciences (Wuhan), the 11th “Top Ten Outstanding Youth” of China University of Geosciences (Wuhan), the “Top Ten Class Teachers” of China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) in 2014, the “University-level Undergraduate Teaching Quality Evaluation Award” in 2015 and 2016, the 9th “Outstanding teaching award for young teachers” of China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) in 2017 and the 5th “Zhuxun Young Teacher Education Award Fund” of China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) in 2018.
His works won the gold award of the 12th Chutian Innovation Award of Hubei Province, the Designer Award of the 11th South China Star Design Art Competition of China, the gold award of the First Art Works Exhibition of Colleges and Universities in Hubei Province, the bronze award of the First Art Works Exhibition of Colleges and Universities in Hubei Province, and the silver award of the 13th Chutian Innovation Award. The works were funded by the animation fund of the Ministry of Culture.
The graduate degree course Originality of Text and Pictures and Visual Communication won the excellent postgraduate course in the second half of 2008. He has instructed the students to participated in professional competitions and won 49 awards, including 4 international awards and 26 national awards. His students have been awarded the excellent thesis of Hubei Province for three consecutive years. Under his guidance, the students have been granted dozens of state-level undergraduate innovation and entrepreneurship programs, general programs and other programs. In the 23rd Students’ Scientific Papers Report Meeting, he was rated as the school level excellent advisor by the student science and technology work leading group of CUG. In 2015, he was engaged as the advisor of the “Micro League Class” team of the Youth League Committee of China University of Geosciences (Wuhan). He was awarded the excellent advisor in the Third “Brother Win” International College Students Creative Competition, and the guided work “Story of Sand and Stone” tied for the national first prize with the works guided by China Academy of Fine Arts.
