Fang Shiming (1977-), male, native of Taihu, Anhui Province, is a professor and doctoral supervisor. In 1995, he was admitted to the Geological Science Base of China University of Geosciences, received a master’s degree in 2002 and a Ph.D. in 2005. He worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Postdoctoral Station of Environmental Science and Engineering, China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) from October 2005 to October 2007, had been visiting the Department of Geography and Resource Management at the Chinese University of Hong Kong for 3 months from June to September 2009, and had been visiting the School of Natural Resources at North Carolina State University for 1 year from August 2013 to August 2014. In December 2012, he was promoted to Professor.
Currently, he is mainly engaged in teaching and research in land use planning, rural revitalization and ecological restoration, and natural resources utilization and planning, and has published more than 60 academic papers, presided over one program supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and more than 20 other projects. He has edited two monographs and co-edited four monographs. He has been a guest of CCTV’s “Geography of China” and Anhui TV’s “Anhuinese Around World” for four episodes, and has been interviewed by the “Global Times”, “Wen Wei Po”, “China Land and Resources News”, “China Tourism News”, and “Qingdao City News”. He was successively awarded a First Prize of the Seventh Higher Education Achievement of Hubei Province, a Second-class Award for Progress in Science and Technology of Hubei Province and a Second-class Award for Progress in Science and Technology of Henan Province. In 2012, he was selected into the New Century High-level Talents Project of Hubei Province and “Cradle Program” of China University of Geosciences.
