Journalism and communication Zhang Meizhen

Zhang Meizhen, professor of Journalism and Communication, PhD, is the deputy dean of School of Arts and Communication. In recent years, she is mainly engaged in the teaching and research of media industry operation and management. And is responsible for teaching 3 professional courses for undergraduates and one degree course for postgraduates.

She has published more than 20 papers in China Higher Education, China Higher Education Research, Business Management Journal, Social Sciences Edition Journal of China University of Geosciences, Contemporary Communications, News Research and other journals as the first author, published two monographs and one textbook, and presided over one Hubei provincial teaching research program, seven provincial and ministerial-level scientific research programs, and two topics sponsored by enterprises and institutions.

Her achievements won the third prize of Outstanding Achievements Award in Philosophy and Social Sciences of Hubei Province, the second prize of Outstanding Achievements Award of granted by the Standing Committee of the People's Congress of Hubei Province, the third prize of Teaching Achievements Award for Higher Education Institutions in Hubei Province, the second teaching achievements prize of CUG, and the excellent teaching award of CUG. Under her guidance, the student works have been granted the excellence award of National Advertising Art Design Competition for College Students twice, and the students’ graduation thesis won the excellent bachelor's degree thesis of Hubei Province for four times.

She also takes the part-time academic posts of vice president and legal representative of Hubei Society of Science and Technology Communication, executive director of Hubei Society of Journalism and Communication, network assessment expert of Fok Ying Tung Foundation for Young Teachers and Yong Teachers Award of the Ministry of Education, evaluation expert of Hubei Social Science Fund and member of the review board of Hubei News Award. She has been successively awarded the title of Excellent Communist Party member and excellent female employee.
