“2021 Graduate Design Exhibition of Design Science and Art Design of School of Arts and Communication” Opens

(Correspondent: Long Xuanmei) In order to show the efforts of the students and express their vision for the past and a better future, the School of Arts and Communication holds this graduate design exhibition - 2021 Graduate Design Exhibition of Design Science and Art Design of School of Arts and Communication. The exhibition opens on May 7 in the exhibition hall on the first floor of the teaching building of the School of Arts and Communication.

Opening ceremony:

A total of 118 students participate in the exhibition, including 36 in vision and illustration design, 47 in environmental design and 35 in information and interaction design. The exhibition is divided into three parts by discipline.

The exhibition was presided over by Peng Jing, Deputy Dean of School of Arts and Communication, China University of Geosciences (Wuhan). Gui Yuhui, Dean of School of Arts and Communication, China University of Geosciences (Wuhan), delivered an opening speech. Professor Yi Xiduo, doctoral supervisor of Wuhan University of Technology, was invited to give guidance and he spoke highly of the students’ works.

Exhibition site:

The design works of visual communication design is first to be exhibited in the exhibition, which are of prominent features, complete types, distinctive personality, diverse expression methods and novel exhibition forms. These works reflect the students’ thinking and growth, express their exploration of the inner world, their concern for the social environment and their expectations for future life, and have been highly praised by teachers and visitors.

Graduates are full of the creative passion of eulogizing the times. The graduation design is made in the form of packaging design, illustration design, cultural and creative product design, APP interface design, IP image design, poster design, book binding design, brand design, etc., and the design is full of visual impact and deeply attracts the audience.

The graduation design is exhibited in the form of a combination of exhibition boards and real objects. Exhibition board layout is the presentation of the visual effect that the designer wants to convey to the audience. Making rational use of layout design can highlight the advantages of graphic language, so as to more clearly explain the design content and design process. In addition, it can more intuitively display the designer’s design logic and design results. The physical exhibition can make the audience more directly understand the functions and characteristics of their design works, so as to fully mobilize the visitors’ awareness of active participation.

Students pour rich and exquisite artistic feelings into common objects in daily life, including notebooks, postcards, bookmarks, handbags, etc., and improve the aesthetic quality in life with their professional skills. At the exhibition site, you can feel the great creativity of graduates.

Every work is the result of their efforts and contains the soul of art. They devote their enthusiasm to every work.

Graduation season is a season of harvest and perception. On the day when they are about to leave their alma mater, graduates try their best to complete the graduation design exhibition. These works not only contain their summary and sublimation of professional knowledge in the past three years, but also express their memories of youth, their pursuit of ideals and their perception of life.
