The School of Arts and Communication Holds an Intensive Education Meeting on Full and Rigorous Party Self-governance and Professional Ethics and Competence of Teachers

At 16:30 p.m. on March 29, the School of Arts and Communication held an intensive education meeting on full and rigorous Party self-governance and professional ethics and competence of teachers. All faculty and staff of the School attended the meeting, which was presided over by He Qingjun, dean and deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the School.

Before the meeting, all faculty and staff signed the “Commitment Letter on Ideological, Political, and Professional Ethics of Teachers”, and stated that they will strictly abide by the “Ten Guidelines for Professional Behavior of Teachers in Colleges and Universities in the New Era” and the “Guiding Opinions of the Ministry of Education on the Handling of Misconduct of Teachers in Colleges and Universities”, will conscientiously fulfill the glorious responsibility of cultivating virtues and morality, and will strive to be a good teacher with ideals and beliefs, moral character, solid knowledge and a heart of kindness.

At the meeting, the dean and the heads of tertiary units signed the statement of responsibility for Party conduct and integrity construction, the statement of responsibility for fire safety, the statement of responsibility for safety construction target management, and the statement of responsibility for confidentiality.

Jin Xi, secretary of the Party Committee of the School, conveyed the spirit of the meeting of the university conference on full and rigorous Party self-governance, and deployed the work of party conduct and clean government construction of the School in 2024. He pointed out that it is necessary to deeply study and implement General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important thoughts on the Party’s self-revolution, and take the discipline education year as an opportunity to organize and carry out the study of the newly revised “Regulations of the Communist Party of China on Disciplinary Punishment” and the “Regulations of the Communist Party of China on Inspection” and other Party regulations, as well as the “Provisions on the Disciplinary Actions for Staff in Government-sponsored Institutions and other laws and regulations. Based on the typical cases of violations of the Code of Conduct for Teachers, misconduct in professional ethics and competence of teachers, and violations of discipline and law, he emphasized that compliance with the law, rules and regulations is one of the basic professional ethics standards for teachers. Party members are equal before Party discipline, everyone is equal before national law, and teachers and staff are equal before school rules. All teachers and students should learn from the cases and keep the alarm ringing, especially the string of academic integrity should be tightened at all times. Teachers should treat students with love and kindness, guide them with correct concepts, cultivate them with profound skills, and lead them with noble behaviors, so that we will contribute to the construction of a “clean and honest university” together.
