Prevention is Better than Cure, and the School is in Action

At the beginning of the new semester, in order to help students master more fire safety knowledge, to effectively enhance their awareness of fire safety prevention, and to further establish the concept of “safety first”, on the afternoon of March 7, 2024, more than 150 undergraduate and graduate students from the School of Arts and Communication participated in the fire safety education activity jointly organized by the Student Affairs Leading Group of the School and the Fire Protection Section of the Department of Safety and Security in the lecture hall of the School of Arts and Communication.

      Firstly, Liu Conggui, Chief of the Fire Protection Section of the Department of Safety and Security, provided students with education on fire safety knowledge. He gave lectures on the elements of fire, fire escape and self rescue methods, and the use of common fire-fighting equipment, and he also remind everyone to master essential fire safety knowledge in combination with the photos and videos of fire accidents that occurred in our university.

    After the theoretical knowledge of firefighting was taught, the Fire Protection Section organized the students to experience the use of fire hydrant, water discharge, and practical operation of fire extinguishers in front of the building of the School of Arts and Communication.

    Through this fire safety education activity, students have mastered the basic fire escape and self rescue methods, learned how to use fire-fighting equipment, and also improved their awareness of fire safety and enhanced their fire-fighting skills. It created a good fire safety atmosphere for building a safe campus.
