Faculty Party Branches of the School of Arts and Communication Carry Out Party’s Day Activities in February

On Feb. 29, the five faculty Party branches of the School of Arts and Communication carried out Party’s day activities with the theme of “Starting a new year with a new start and advancing bravely at the right time”. According to the requirements of the “Notice on Carrying out the Branch Party’s Day Activities in February 2024”, each faculty branch, in combination with its actual situation, carried out centralized studying through PPT live lead study, watching videos, free speech discussion, political birthday and other ways.

The Party members first carefully studied the important speech of General Secretary Xi Jinping at the Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the contents of the newly revised Chapter 6 of the “Regulations of the Communist Party of China on Disciplinary Actions”, such as “Punishment for Violations of Political Discipline”. Through this massed learning, all the Party members agreed that the newly revised “Regulations” are an inevitable requirement for implementing Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the practical action to concretize the requirements of Party Constitution into disciplinary provisions, and also a vivid manifestation of connecting with other Party regulations and national laws. All Party members said that they should have a deeper understanding of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important thought on the Party’s self-revolution, constantly enhance the cultivation of the Party spirit, strengthen the construction of Party conduct, improve the progressiveness and purity of Party members, take the initiative to be the practitioners, guardians and supervisors of the study and implementation of the “Regulations”, and scrupulously abide by their duties to internalize and externalize political discipline and rules in practice, so as to create a clean and upright school environment.

Each party branch also organized party member teachers to systematically study the spirit of the “Main Task Decomposition Plan for the 13th Party Congress of CUG” and President Wang Yanxin’s “Speech at the 2024 New Semester Work Arrangement Meeting”. Each party branch has stated that it will adhere to the theme of improving quality and efficiency, seize opportunities and plan annual research priorities based on its own reality, overcome difficulties and implement them, vigorously promote the implementation of the School’s 14th Five-Year Plan, and timely implement the decisions and deployments of the 13th Party Congress of CUG, so as to make contributions to the construction of an internationally renowned research-oriented university in the field of earth sciences.
