Bian Jianhua, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Arts and Communication, and His Delegation Conducted a Survey at the Natural Resources Physical Geological Data Center of China Geological Survey.

(Reported by Ning Wei) On the afternoon of December 7, Bian Jianhua, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Arts and Communication, Li Weina, director of the School Office, and Ning Wei, head of the Department of Journalism and Communication, visited and conducted a survey at the Natural Resources Physical Geological Data Center of the China Geological Survey (hereinafter referred to as the “Physical Center”).

They visited the Specimen Garden of the Physical Center and the Natural Resources Physical Geological Data Museum, and had discussions and exchanges with the leaders of the Physical Center and business department heads.

The symposium centered on talent cultivation and university-enterprise cooperation on business development. Zhang Sen, deputy director of the Physical Center, chaired the symposium. He expressed gratitude to China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) for providing a large number of outstanding talents to the Physical Center for a long time, and stated that the Physical Center would strengthen the connection with his alma mater and school in the future, and establish good cooperative relationships in talent transfer, internship practice and other aspects, so as to assist in talent cultivation and disciplinary development of the alma mater and the School of Arts and Communication.

Bian Jianhua introduced the basic situation of the School and the purpose of the visit, and proposed to further strengthen cooperation between the School and the Physical Center in geo-cultural science popularization, student internship and practice, and the providing of outstanding graduates, and achieve complementary advantages and coordinated development between the School and the Physical Center by sharing scientific and educational resources.

It is understood that the Natural Resources Physical Geological Data Center of China Geological Survey is a public welfare institution directly under China Geological Survey, and is a national physical geological data collection institution, which is responsible for the collection, management, development, research and utilization of important physical geological data of the country, providing decision-making and operational technical support for the competent government departments, and providing public welfare services to the society. In recent years, the National Physical Data Center has strengthened the effective storage and scientific utilization of a large number of important physical geological data, promoted the digitization of physical geological data in its collection, and developed various service products; it has also organized the construction of the national important geological drilling database to provide service support for geological prospecting and economic and social development, which has been recognized by the state and society. It is the “Land and Resources Science Popularization Base of the Ministry of Land and Resources”, “Information Technology Research Center for Physical Geological Data of China Geological Survey”, “Physical Geological Data and Coal Quality Supervision and Detection Center of the Ministry of Land and Resources”, the Qinhuangdao Sea Level and Terrain Deformation Observation and Research Workstation (Field Science Research Base) of the Ministry of Land, and the teaching internship base for multiple higher education institutions.
