The China Mining News is sponsored and managed by the China Geological Survey of the Ministry of Natural Resources. In recent years, China Mining News has attached great importance to the construction of news and public opinion capacity and means of communication, and has gradually established a media information service platform based on the “three carriages” of “integrated media matrix + research center + technology company”, with the Mining World as the core brand. By coordinating the integrated media matrix built with its “one newspaper, one website, MicroBlog and WeChat, one terminal” and a number of third-party communication channels, it has created a series of original integrated media products with new ideas and depth, and realized the full coverage of text, pictures, video, audio, live broadcasting and other forms of content. The comprehensive user volume of all platforms has exceeded 1.6 million, and the annual browsing volume has exceeded 50 million, making it the professional information service platform with the largest audience, the strongest communication power and the widest influence in the field of mining in China.
According to the agreement, after the establishment of the “Practice Teaching Base for Integrated Journalism Talent Training”, the School and China Mining Press will carry out in-depth cooperation in student internship and practice training, professional practice teaching and sharing of recruitment and employment information, etc., and will establish an effective mechanism for joint training of outstanding integrated journalism talents based on the cooperation between university and the industry in accordance with the talent training objectives and requirements of the “double first-class” construction of journalism and communication discipline.
It is understood that since its establishment in 2002, the Radio and Television Studies major of this School has formed a relatively mature bachelor and master talent training system. Relying on the advantageous disciplines and distinctive majors of CUG, it has formed a unique geoscience popularization and communication education mode, and the characteristic direction of scientific and technological communication has been unanimously recognized by off-campus peer experts, and has achieved good academic results. The outstanding students represented by Wang Chengdong, Shi Hanwei, Li Qiang, etc. have won the first prize multiple times in various news awards at all levels, such as the China Journalism Award. In 2021, the Radio and Television Studies program was approved as a national first-class undergraduate program.
