(Reported by: Shan Tianyi and Zeng Gehui) Organized by Department of Education of Hubei Province and hosted by China University of Geosciences (Wuhan), Live Vocal Music Performance for Excellent Literary and Artistic Programs of 8th Hubei Provincial College Student Art Festival was held from December 7 to 9, 2023 at the North Campus Concert Hall of China University of Geosciences (Wuhan).
This College Student Art Festival received a total of 2128 art works (including art, vocal music, instrumental music, recitation, dance, etc.) submitted by 131 colleges and universities across the province. After the preliminary evaluation, there were more than 400 excellent art works, which were respectively categorized for on-site performance in Wuhan Conservatory of Music, China University of Geosciences (Wuhan), Huazhong Agricultural University, Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, South-Central Minzu University, Hubei Institute of Fine Arts and other universities from December 7 to 13.
The performance activities fully demonstrated the positive spirit of the students, reflected the positive spirit of college students in a new era and solid artistic skills, expressed the cultural self-confidence and self-awareness of action of carrying forward Chinese excellent traditional culture and spreading the Chinese value, and fully demonstrated the pursuit for value of the contemporary college students together with the Communist Party of China, the motherland, the era, the people, and the dream.
Hubei Provincial College Student Art Festival is a grand gathering of arts to implement the requirements of the CPC Central Committee, State Council, CPC Hubei Provincial Committee and provincial government on comprehensively strengthening and improving the work of aesthetic education in schools in a new era, to show the reform achievements of aesthetic education in colleges and universities and the graceful bearing of college students in Hubei Province, is also a grand gathering of arts for the college students with the highest specification, the largest size and the most influence. Since 1999, it has been held once every three years.
Since the first half of this year, this School has been actively preparing for the performance, seriously organizing the students to rehearse and prepare for the competition. Under the guidance of the leadership of this School and the teachers of the Department of Music, the chorus selection, design, choreography, production, costume matching have been continuously polishing, after several months of careful rehearsal, totally 3 programs including Random Thoughts of Theme of Song of the Explorers, Walking on the Gorge River and The Pride of Youth were selected for the performance activities, and achieved excellent results.
Finally, School of Arts and Communication successfully hosted Live Vocal Music Performance for Excellent Literary and Artistic Programs of 8th Hubei Provincial College Student Art Festival, and it was grateful to all the staff who worked for this performance.
