On December 8, 2023, Jinxi, the Party Secretary of this School, Deputy Dean Yuan Yue, and Teacher Yu Lei from Department of Music participated in "1st New Era Geological Art and Culture Festival".
In order to deeply study and implement Xi Jinping's thought on culture, vigorously strengthen geologic publicity and education and geologic culture dissemination, build a new pattern of geologic culture dissemination in a new era, and enhance the spiritual power to realize the modernization of geologic work, Geologic Literary and Art Association held "1st New Era Geologic Art and Culture Festival" at 14:30 on December 8 in the Geological Auditorium in Beijing. This activity attracted the close attention of the national geological industry, and attracted the extensive and enthusiastic participation of more than one hundred units including the units under China Geological Survey, state-owned geological exploration units, mining enterprises, colleges and universities, etc., which together presented a visual storm and a cultural feast for the geological workers. Based on the concept of "opening the door for hosting, getting everyone involved and sharing joy", the activity built a platform for national geological workers to communicate and a stage for them to show their talents, and sent a delicious original geological cultural feast to national geological workers. After several rounds of selection and evaluation, the programs Beijing, Won't Quake and Song of Explorers submitted by CUG was invited to participate in the live performance on December 8, in which Song of Explorers was commanded by Yu Lei and led by Yuan Yue.
In addition, two students, Wang Tian from Department of Music and Wang Aofei from School of Marxism, were recommended by CUG to participate in the preparatory work of the event, and went to Beijing to join the special class of the Culture and Arts Festival on November 21, led by Counselor Chen Xiliang. It was said that both students participated in the planning, guidance and organization of art activities, and their 20-day assistance in the preparatory work was praised by the leaders and colleagues.
