Family-School based Collaborative Education | 2023 Home Visits by Counselors of the School

October 11, 2023

In accordance with the requirements of the Department of Education of Hubei Province and CUG’s documents on home visits, in order to consolidate the collaborative efforts of family and university and promote the comprehensive development and healthy growth of students, the School of Arts and Communication has launched the home visit activities by counselors, which narrowed the distance between teachers and students and achieved family-school education.

On the morning of September 27, Bian Jianhua, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Arts and Communication, led the counselors of the Student Affairs Leading Group, including Shan Liyi, Chen Xiliang and Zeng Gohui, to Qiaokou District, Wuhan City, to visit and comfort Li Xinyi, an undergraduate student of Grade 2023, who had accidentally injured her knee ligament during the military training. They learnt about the student’s current physical condition and recovery as well as her difficulties, and sent the most sincere greetings and concerns.

During the home visit, Secretary Bian and the accompanying counselors had a friendly and detailed exchange with the parents of the students, fully recognizing Li Xinyi’s recent performance in school. They hoped that she could rest at home according to the doctor's advice and contact the teachers at any time if she had difficulties. Afterwards, they further discussed with her parents about her studies, life, and mental health during her college years.

Through this home visit activity, a bridge has been established between the school and family, allowing the student and her parents to feel the warmth of the school and the care of the leaders and teachers, promoting the effective connection between school and family education. In the future, the school will continue to improve the collaborative education mechanism between family and school, continuously enhance the targeted and effective ideological and political education work for college students, and jointly help students grow and become successful.
