[Series Report] Special Report on the Theme-focused Education Research in Zhejiang by Dean He Qingjun and His Party

Editor’s note: At present, all CPC members and all people from the leadership to the masses in CUG are carrying out the theme-focused education on studying and implementing Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era in accordance with the requirements of the “Opinions of the CPC Central Committee on Thoroughly Implementing Theme-focused Education on Studying and Implementing Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era”. The Party Committee of the School of Arts and Communication conscientiously studies and implements the “Implementation Plan for Theme-focused Education on Thoroughly Studying and Implementing Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era” issued by the Party Committee of CUG; focusing on the general requirements of “learning ideology, strengthening party spirit, emphasizing practice, and making new achievements”, it combines the theme-focused education with the fundamental task of cultivating virtues and morality, combines the theme-focused education with the talent training, scientific research, discipline construction and other work of the school, integrates the requirements of theory study, investigation and research, development promotion and inspection and rectification, and strive to achieve tangible results in studying for forging the soul, studying for wisdom, studying for Party conduct, and studying for work promotion. From now on, a series of reports on this theme will be launched on the website of the School.

In order to thoroughly study and implement Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and the spirit of the 20th National Congress of CPC, and in accordance with General Secretary Xi Jinping’s request of “promoting the investigation and research throughout the Party”, dean He Qingjun, deputy dean Peng Jing, deputy dean Yang Zhe, and Di Cheng, director of the Department of Visual and Media Design, went to Zhejiang Province conduct in-depth research from June 3 to June 6, focusing on issues of concern to the School and to the students and faculty in conjunction with the actual work.

At 11:00 am on the morning of June 28, 2023, director Di Cheng made a special report on the research results in Conference Room 1209 of the Arts and Communication Building. All party members attended the meeting, which was hosted by dean He Qingjun.

 

Director Di Cheng introduced the main contents of this survey to everyone. First, they participated in the 2023 Qingshan Lake Forum and the Smart Technology Guarding Green Mountains and Rivers Industry Summit held by the Zhejiang Alumni Association of China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) with the theme of “Sharing the Great Feelings to CUG, Talking about the Dream of Green Mountains”; second, they went to the Zhejiang Provincial Museum, West Lake Gallery, Zhejiang Exhibition Hall and Zhejiang Art Museum to visit the 2023 Graduation Exhibition of China Academy of Art; third, they went to the School of Art and Design of Zhejiang Sci-Tech University to watch the Exhibition of Graduation Design Works for 2023 Graduate Students; fourth, they went to the Xiangshan Campus of the China Academy of Art to visit the concluding exhibition of the 2018 National Social Science Foundation Art Major Project “Research on the Theoretical Construction of Oriental Design”. During the survey, four representatives of this School had in-depth exchanges with Professor Cheng Zhaohui, deputy dean and doctoral advisor of the School of Design and Art of China Academy of Art, and discussed the development trend and prospects of the design discipline.

 

Finally, dean He Qingjun made a summary of the results of this research work. Through in-depth visits and exchanges, we not only broadened our horizons and grew our knowledge, but also established good contacts and cooperation with experts and scholars in various fields. It will have a positive impact on our academic research and professional development, and will also play an active role in the discipline construction and talent training of the School.
