Editor’s note: At present, all CPC members and all people from the leadership to the masses in CUG are carrying out the theme-focused education on studying and implementing Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era in accordance with the requirements of the “Opinions of the CPC Central Committee on Thoroughly Implementing Theme-focused Education on Studying and Implementing Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era”. The Party Committee of the School of Arts and Communication conscientiously studies and implements the “Implementation Plan for Theme-focused Education on Thoroughly Studying and Implementing Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era” issued by the Party Committee of CUG; focusing on the general requirements of “learning ideology, strengthening party spirit, emphasizing practice, and making new achievements”, it combines the theme-focused education with the fundamental task of cultivating virtues and morality, combines the theme-focused education with the talent training, scientific research, discipline construction and other work of the school, integrates the requirements of theory study, investigation and research, development promotion and inspection and rectification, and strive to achieve tangible results in studying for forging the soul, studying for wisdom, studying for Party conduct, and studying for work promotion. From now on, a series of reports on this theme will be launched on the website of the School.
In order to strengthen the cooperation and co-education mechanism among colleges and universities in Wuhan and broaden the new path for eternal cultural exchange, on June 9, 2023, the School of Arts and Communication was invited to the Air Force Early Warning Academy for exchange and study. Yu Lei, head of the Star Choir, and Chen Xiliang, director of the Party Building Office of the School, led members of the Star Choir and members and activists of the undergraduate music party branch to go together.
In front of the Military History Museum, the neatly lined up and well-dressed early warning students gave us a warm welcome, and all the students and teachers took a group photo together in front of the Museum.
Immediately afterwards, led by Officer Liu Bin of the Political Work Office, Mr. Yu Lei, Mr. Chen Xiliang and student Party members visited the Military History Museum and watched the admission promotion video of the Air Force Early Warning Academy. At the subsequent discussion and exchange meeting, our teachers and students and the backbone of the Snow Lotus Choir had face-to-face in-depth exchanges on military life and art group construction, and put forward a good vision to further deepen exchanges and cooperation, laying a deep foundation for future professional exchanges and mutual assistance between the art groups of the two sides.
At the same time, in Room 103 of the Experimental Building of the Air Force Early Warning Academy, members of the Star Choir of this School and the Snow Lotus Choir of the Air Force Early Warning Academy were having a unique art exchange activity. After the Star Choir and the Snow Lotus Choir sang a choir song for each other, the students went to the podium to sing and teach singing skills and performance experience. The classroom was filled with singing, laughter and thunderous applause.
Cultivate students’ love for the country and the military, and strive for mutual progress based on communication. The students and teachers were impressed by the strict discipline of the military school and experienced the spirit of “Go to the grassroots, go to the hard places, go to the place where the military struggle preparation is most needed, long-term service for the construction of information-based forces to win the information-based war” and the spirit of “snow lotus”, as well as their excellent style of “pragmatism, hard work, solidarity, valor and tenacity”, and practically comprehended the great significance and outstanding effectiveness of Xi Jinping’s thought on strengthening the military for the goal of building a strong military and military construction in the new era and expressed their longing for military life and their respect for the military. In the process of communication and study, this School fully utilized its professional advantages to provide professional support for the cultural construction of military academies and the improvement of students’ cultural literacy, helping to build a strong military and a prosperous country in the new era.
