An Exchange Meeting on Application for Provincial First-Class Undergraduate Curriculum Held in This School

(Reported by Wan Zihan) At 9:30 a.m. on April 24, an exchange meeting on application for the provincial first-class curriculum was held in No. 1209 Meeting Room. The persons in charge of application for the provincial first-class curriculum including Peng Jing, Yang Zhe, Yuan Yue and Shang Yuanyuan attended the meeting. The supervisors of this School including Professor Yuan Yanming and Professor Zhang Meizhen, and Associate Professor Ning Wei, the head of Department of Journalism and Communication as the expert of the review group of this School, participated in the guidance of the application for of the first-class curriculum. The meeting was presided over by Deputy Director Yang Zhe.  

First of all, each person in charge of application introduced the curriculum from the characteristics, team, teaching situation, construction plan, etc. The members of expert review team gave professional advice and elaborate guidance from the selection of the provincial first-class curricula to the writing of the application.

Prof. Yuan Yanming pointed out that the offline curricula combined with social practice should further improve the teaching planning, focus on social practice, and closely match the curricula with practice. The online application curricula should highlight the characteristics of CUG and their own characteristics, enrich the  ideological and political  content, and improve the online course examination question bank to give students a rich course experience.

Professor Zhang Meizhen proposed that the process of applying the provincial first-class curricula should focus on exploring the ideological and political  content in the teaching materials, and cooperate with the teaching system of this School to build a first-class course, while reflecting the function of education and social services of this School. In the process of writing the application, the chapters should be constantly consolidated and highlighted, and the contents of the materials should be concise and clear.

Associate Professor Ning Wei pointed out that the application of the curriculum should highlight its characteristics, clarify the teaching purpose and reflect the ideological and political function of the curriculum. The curriculum should highlight the combination with the disciplinary characteristics of CUG, the content of the curriculum should be crossed and integrated with geological disciplines, and give play to the multi-functionality and aesthetic advantages of the curriculum.

Deputy Dean Yang Zhe finally stressed that all the persons in charge of the application should comprehensively learn the opinions and suggestions of the expert review team, carefully revise and improve the application, find out the right position and make up for the shortcomings according to the requirements of the overall program of the first-class discipline construction in this School, so as to well complete the application for the provincial first-class discipline and comprehensively improve the disciplinary construction level of this School.
