Gong Bin, Peng Jing and Zhu Yi Won the 2022 Excellence Award for Industry-University-Research Institute Collaboration and Innovation Achievements

On April 16, there was good news from the 14th China Industry-University-Research Institute Collaboration and Innovation Conference: the project “Ecological Restoration and Industrial Transformation of Lingshan Industrial and Mining Wasteland to Cultural Tourism Scenic Area in Jiangxia District, Wuhan City”, applied and led by Gong Bin, Peng Jing and Zhu Yi of this school, won the 2022 Excellence Award for Industry-University-Research Cooperation and Innovation Achievement.

Ecological Restoration and Transformation of Jiangxia Lingshan Industrial and Mining Wasteland to Ecological Cultural Tourism Scenic Area, the first mine themed scenic spot in Wuhan, and is a typical case where our teachers and students practice the “Two Mountains” theory, vigorously promote rural revitalization, and implement the industry-university-research institute collaboration and innovation. Adhering to the combination of natural restoration and artificial governance, the project promoted the greening of mines, the cleaning of mineral water and the transformation of slag into treasure, transformed “mining pits” into “gold pits” and “abandoned mountains” into “silver mountains”, and achieved the organic unity of ecological, social, and economic benefits. It is also a new cultural tourism landmark built by Wuhan for in-depth implementation of Jiangxia “ecological district” strategy. After renovation and upgrading, the scenic area has been opened to the public.
