The School of Arts and Communication Holds the 2023 Full and Rigorous Party Self-Governance Conference

(Reported by Li Congcong) At 2:30 p.m. on April 4, this school held the 2023 Full and Rigorous Party Self-Governance Conference with the theme of “Learn from the cases to guard the bottom line, cultivate morality by self-discipline to strength teacher’s virtue” in the Lecture Hall 1104 of the school. All faculty members of the school attended the conference, which was presided over by Bian Jianhua, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the School.

Before the meeting, all the teachers in the school signed a commitment letter on the ideological, political, and ethical performance of the faculty, agreeing to strictly abide by the ten guidelines for professional conduct of university teachers in the new era, to eliminate behaviors detrimental to professional reputation, to conscientiously implement the fundamental task of cultivating virtues and morality, and to actively create a clean and upright atmosphere for educating people.

At the meeting, Guo Xiurong, secretary of the Party Committee of the School, first led the participants to study the typical cases of violating ten guidelines for teachers’ professional conduct exposed by the Ministry of Education in 2022 and the important remarks of General Secretary Xi Jinping on the construction of teacher’s virtue and conduct. She emphasized that education should adhere to the fundamental principles of cultivating virtues and morality, and the school should have zero tolerance for misconduct in teacher’s virtue. All faculty members should learn from the cases, strictly abide by academic norms and integrity, build a harmonious teacher-student relationship, be dedicated and self-disciplined, and be a people’s teacher worthy of the times.

Then, on behalf of the school, Secretary Guo signed the letter of responsibility for the construction of party conduct and clean government, the letter of responsibility for fire safety, the letter of responsibility for target management of safe construction and the letter of responsibility for confidentiality with the heads of third-level units. Everyone expressed that they will seriously implement the spirit of this meeting, continuously strengthen the propaganda and education of party conduct and clean governance, and cultivate a good political ecology of the school, so as to lay a solid foundation for high-quality development.
