A Spring Outing on the Beautiful Day

In order to improve the communication and understanding between the faculty and staff, strengthen the teamwork, enhance the sense of collective honor, and establish a proactive, diligent, united and harmonious school team, the Branch Labor Union of the School of Arts and Communication decided to a spring outing activity on the beautiful day. Members of the party and government leadership team of the school, including Guo Xiurong, Bian Jianhua, Zhang Meizhen, Yuan Yue and Peng Jing, attended the activity.

In the midst of laughter, more than 60 teachers took a bus from the school at 2:00 p.m. on March 30 and arrived at their destination, HERRE Farm, about half an hour later. The farm is located on Botanical Garden Road in the East Lake Scenic Area, with an area of about half the size of a playground. Although the place is not large, there are all kinds of farm elements such as flowers, plants, pigs, sheep, ducks, and small bridges, flowing water, and households. In addition to our team, there were also some tourists drinking tea and taking photos.

After the teachers sat down in groups of three or five, they entered the mode of drinking tea, chatting, and basking in the sun. Although the quantity of each kind of tea and pastries is small, but there are many variations. Some teachers chose the barbecue set and called for other teachers to come and enjoy the meal after it was done. The volunteers of the branch of labor union also brought milk tea and hot and cold drinks. In the warm spring sun, they talked about different topics. The Party Branch of the Department of Journalism and Communication took the opportunity to hold a themed Party day event and studied the relevant documents.

One focus of spring outing was “celebrating a collective birthday”. The teachers who had their birthdays in the first half of the year cut the cake together and were given a silk scarf as the birthday gift which was prepared by the branch labor union of the school. The teachers were all smiling brightly in the spring afternoon sun. This activity allowed the teachers to enjoy the beautiful scenery in a relaxed and free atmosphere, promoted emotional exchanges between colleagues, and made the faculty team more cohesive and centripetal.
