NEWS | The School of Arts and Communication Holds an Employment Promotion Seminar in March 2023

In order to thoroughly study and implement the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress, comprehensively implement the decision and deployment of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council on the employment and entrepreneurship work for college graduates, and solidly promote the “Notice of the Ministry of Education on the Employment and Entrepreneurship Work of the National Graduates of Ordinary Colleges and Universities in 2023”, the School of Arts and Communication held the Employment Promotion Seminar in March 2023 at 15:30 on March 31, 2023 in Room 1209 of the building of this school. The leadership team of the school, heads and deputy heads of all departments, class teachers and counselors of graduating classes attended this meeting, which was presided over by Bian Jianhua, deputy secretary of the Party Committee.

The first item on the agenda of the meeting was to introduce the employment work of the school by Bian Jianhua, deputy secretary of the Party Committee. The discussion focused on four aspects: employment knowledge, employment data, employment priorities and difficulties, and employment initiatives and plans. He stated that we need to deepen the implementation of “one hunting and two promotions”, establish the “employment contact database”, and take multiple measures such as “visiting enterprises to promote employment” and leading students to “go out”, to provide better employment services. We should also further build the employment linkage system of the School of Arts and Communication, and form a work pattern of focusing on employment and promoting employment.

The second item on the agenda of the meeting was to discuss and exchange views on promoting employment. The participating teachers actively spoke and put forward relevant suggestions from the training program and curriculum, and expressed that they would continue to promote the education and teaching reform of each major, to effectively enhance students’ practical ability and comprehensive quality, and improve their vocational skills and employability.

The third item on the agenda of the meeting was the concluding speech by Guo Xiurong, secretary of the Party Committee of the School, and He Qingjun, dean of the School. Secretary Guo Xiurong emphasized that various departments should strengthen cooperation and linkage, build employment information platforms through multiple channels, and comprehensively implement the employment policies. Dean He Qingjun said that we should attach great importance to and actively respond to the current complex employment situation, guide students to establish a correct concept of employment and career choice, and make good career development plans.

The School of Arts and Communication will further strengthen the employment guidance and support for the graduates in 2023, to provide strong support and guarantee for the growth and development of students.
