Notice | The School of Arts and Communication Launches a Series of Labor Education Activities on the Theme of “Inheriting the Spirit of Lei Feng, and Advocating the New Style of the Times” in the Lei Feng Volunteer Service Month

The year 2023 marks the 60th anniversary of the inscription by Mao Zedong and other older revolutionaries for Comrade Lei Feng, and is also the 24th “China Youth Volunteer Day”. In order to further study the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress, implement the important instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping on volunteer service, motivate Party members, cadres and the public to effectively take up the mission and task of volunteer service in the new era, and promote the normalization of volunteer service in the school, the School of Arts and Communication will carry out a series of activities with the theme of “Inheriting the spirit of Lei Feng, and advocating the new style of the times”, and the relevant matters are hereby notified as follows.

IV. Subjects of Activities

(I) Meeting with the theme of “The Spirit of Lei Feng in the Heart”

General Secretary Xi Jinping gave important instructions to carry out in-depth activities to learn from Lei Feng, “let learning from Lei Feng become a common practice among the people, especially young people”. Student Party branches and Youth League branches will hold exchange forums on “Inheriting the Spirit of Lei Feng, Striving to Be the New Man of the Times”, and will conduct thematic reports around the life of Lei Feng, Lei Feng story, and Lei Feng diary, to discuss how the spirit of Lei Feng can help the new semester, stimulate new dynamics, and establish new goals.

(II) Campus volunteer service activity with the theme of “The Spirit of Lei Feng Warms the Campus”

In order to create a green and civilized campus, integrate the learning from Lei Feng into daily life, we will organize and carry out campus volunteer service activities, such as campus environmental cleaning, dormitory culture festival, labor education competitions, and guide students to participate in the practical activities of “I do practical things for teachers and students”, to promote the formation of a good atmosphere “everyone learns from Lei Feng, and Lei Feng is in everything” on the campus.

(III) “The Spirit of Lei Feng Nourishes the Soul” charity donation activity

In order to profoundly grasp the spirit of Lei Feng and practice the spirit of “dedication, love, mutual assistance and progress”, we organize activities such as book donation and painting donation for all teachers and students, so as to dedicate to society and pass on kindness through practical actions.

(IV) “Spokesmen of the Spirit of Lei Feng” —— Excellent volunteer style demonstration

We will actively seek out “Lei Feng-style people” around us, fully excavate the “Lei Feng-style deeds”, establish typical examples of “learning from Lei Feng” and encourage the Communist Youth League members and young volunteers to become “spokesmen of the Spirit of Lei Feng” through special excellent volunteer style exhibitions. Establish the “volunteer” models to lead the new trends and stimulate new vitality, cultivate and practice the core values of socialism, and promote the institutionalization and normalization of “learning from Lei Feng” volunteer service.

(V) “Beautiful Yangtze River, Youth Action” ecological civilization construction volunteer activity

Deeply promote the “Yangtze River Protection Activity Plan for College Students”, and organize and carry out the “Youth Action at Beautiful East Lake” volunteer service activity. Carry out outdoor environmental protection practice at East Lake, carry out ecological civilization publicity and education, guide the young people to engage in ecological civilization practice, and deeply understand the connotation of Xi Jinping’s ecological civilization thought.

(VI) “Learn and pass on the Spirit of Lei Feng from generation to generation” —— A Promotional Design Competition for Leaning from Lei Feng

In order to continuously innovate the form of activities to learn from Lei Feng and guide young students to promote the spirit of Lei Feng, the School of Arts and Communication plans to hold a promotional design competition to learn from Lei Feng, with the theme of “Learn and pass on the Spirit of Lei Feng from generation to generation”, and will collect all kinds of artistic works to promote the spirit of Lei Feng.
