China Mining News Agency Visited This School for Exchange and Discussion

(Reported by Yang Ying, photo by Zeng Gehui) At 10:00 a.m. on March 13, 2023, China Mining News Agency visited this school for investigation and exchange. Xu Bin, director of the Department of Personnel and Education of China Mining News Agency, Wang Xiaoyan, cadre of the Department of Personnel and Education of China Mining News Agency, Guo Xiurong, secretary of the Party Committee of School of Arts and Communication, deputy dean Zhang Meizhen, Bian Jianhua, deputy secretary of the Party Committee, Shang Yuanyuan, secretary of the Party branch of the Department of Journalism and Communication, Shan Tianyi, counselor of the student affairs leading group, and graduate students majoring in Journalism and Communication and Interaction Design participated in the meeting, which was chaired by Bian Jianhua, deputy secretary of the Party Committee.

First of all, Secretary Guo Xiurong delivered a welcome speech. She said that the School of Arts and Communication and China Mining News Agency have a deep friendship, and the two sides cooperate in a wide range of fields, at various levels and in a flexible manner. She hoped that both sides would further explore new forms of cooperation on the original basis to achieve resource sharing and complementary advantages.

Then, deputy dean Zhang Meizhen introduced the disciplines and majors, as well as the development plan of the school from discipline construction, talent training, scientific research innovation and cultural heritage. She stressed that we should actively explore the industry-university-research cooperation mode, further broaden the breadth and depth of cooperation between the two sides, and pragmatically promote the implementation of projects, to achieve mutual benefit and win-win results hand in hand.

Afterwards, Xu Bin, director of the Department of Personnel and Education of China Mining News Agency, introduced the basic situation of the agency. China Mining News Agency is a bureau-level public welfare service institute of Class II directly under the China Geological Survey, mainly responsible for mining industry news publicity, financial media platform construction, international mining research, mining big data integration and analysis. She said that China Mining News Agency attaches great importance to the construction of news and public opinion capabilities and communication means, highly focuses on the precise needs of vertical users in the mining field, and has created a series of innovative and in-depth original products, and gradually established the media integration matrix research center.

Finally, the teachers communicated with the participating students. The students asked questions about the employment needs, recruitment process, job content and salary of China Mining News Agency, to further understand the overall situation, future development planning and policies related to media integration of China Mining News Agency, and actively submitted their resumes to show their personal style.

This meeting helped students to further understand the media industry and job requirements and establish a clearer career development plan. At the same time, it deepened the communication and cooperation between China Mining News Agency and this school, and promoted the construction of a new platform for collaborative education.
