The School of Arts and Communication Holds the Second Teaching and Administrative Meeting and the Fourth Session of the Second Labor Union General Meeting

(Text by Liu Yikun; photo by Cheng Huangxin) At 2:30 p.m. on February 16, 2023, the Second Teaching and Administrative Staff Meeting and the Fourth Session of the Labor Union General Meeting of the School of Arts and Communication was held in Conference Room 1104 of the building of the school. The meeting was opened with the solemn national anthem. Zhang Meizhen, Deputy Dean of the School, read out the approval documents of the meeting. Bian Jianhua, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the School, chaired the meeting.

He Qingjun, Dean of the School, presented the 2022 Work Report and Financial Work Report of the School of Arts and Communication. He also conveyed an excerpt of President Wang Yanxin’s speech at the 2023 New Semester Work Set-up Meeting. Then he talked about his vision for the development of the school from eight aspects, including work ideas, discipline construction, platform construction, teaching staff construction, key breakthroughs, benchmarking and docking, work focus, and goal outlook.

Zhou Li, Chairman of the Branch Labor Union, made the work report and financial work report of the labor union in 2022. Zhou Li made a comprehensive elaboration on the work of the branch union in the aspects of organization construction, ideological construction, cultural construction, caring for the life of the staff and safeguarding the rights and interests of the staff.

At the same time, the meeting of reporting on work and integrity of division-level leading cadres was held to conduct democratic evaluation of the work of the school’s leadership team in 2022. Members of the leadership team of the School, including Guo Xiurong, Zhang Meizhen, Yang Zhe, Peng Jing, Yuan Yue and Bian Jianhua reported on their work respectively. All faculty members filled in the democratic evaluation form online.

All faculty members passed the work reports of the Dean and the Labor Union by a show of hands. Yang Zhe, deputy dean of the school, read out the “Resolution of the Teaching and Administrative Staff Meeting of the School of Arts and Communication on the Dean’s Work Report”, Peng Jing, deputy dean of the school, read out the “Resolution of the Teaching and Administrative Staff Meeting of the School of Arts and Communication on the Labor Union’s Work Report”, and Yuan Yue, deputy dean of the school, read out the decision of the school to commend advanced individuals in employment work.

Guo Xiurong, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School, delivered the closing speech. The meeting was successfully closed with the Internationale.
