School of Arts and Communication Holds a Meeting for the Arrival of New Dean

On the morning of January 16, 2023, the new dean’s arrival meeting was held in the Conference Room 1209 of the School, which was held simultaneously online and offline. Wang Fu, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the University, Leng Zaixin, Deputy Director of the Organization Department of the Party Committee, and members of the leadership team of the School attended the offline meeting, and the party and government leaders of the three-level units and representatives of the faculty and staff attended the online meeting. The meeting was chaired by Leng Zaixin, Deputy Director of the Organization Department of the Party Committee.

At the meeting, Secretary Wang Fu read out the appointment and dismissal documents of the Party Committee of the University, announced Comrade He Qingjun as the dean of the School of Arts and Communication, and gave a comprehensive introduction to his basic information.

Comrade He Qingjun, the new dean, made a statement on the performance of his duties. He thanked the party committee of the University for its heavy trust, and was honored to join the School of Arts and Communication, and also felt the importance of his duties. He said that in his new job, he should continue to strengthen his political theory study, unite with members of the leadership team and all teachers and students, seek truth from facts, defy hardships and take responsibility. He stated that under the leadership of the Party Committee and Administration of the University, as well as the support and help of the teachers and students of the School, he would contribute his strength to the discipline construction and high-quality development of teaching and research of the School.

Comrade Guo Xiurong, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School, spoke on behalf of the leadership team of the School. She expressed her gratitude to the Party Committee of the University for its strong support to the development of the school and firmly supported the decision of the Party Committee of the University. She hoped that Dean He would change his role as soon as possible, strengthen his research, get familiar with the school as soon as possible, and lead the faculty and students to achieve greater success in scientific research and discipline construction.

Secretary Wang Fu put forward three hopes in his concluding speech. First, he expressed congratulations and expectations to Comrade He Qingjun, and hoped that the School, under the leadership of Secretary Guo Xiurong and Dean He Qingjun, would strengthen political learning, unify ideas, and enhance the sense of responsibility, urgency, and mission. Second, the members of leadership team should make good use of democratic centralism, make collective decisions, unite and dedicate ourselves to form a strong leadership force. Third, he said that the School should always strengthen its connotation development, and take improving its core competitiveness and expanding the influence as the top priority, and he also wished the School of Arts and Communication to develop better and better.
