In order to strengthen the scientific research atmosphere, expand the academic vision, cultivate and exercise the scientific literacy and innovation ability of our graduate students, and provide a platform for students to display their academic strength, scientific research achievements, and innovation ability, the 33rd Student Science and Technology Paper Presentation of the School of Arts and Communication of China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) was held at 2 p.m. on November 10, 2022 in the North Complex Building as scheduled.
This science and technology paper presentation was hosted by the Graduate Union of the School of Arts and Communication and carried out in the form of “integration of undergraduate and postgraduate”, adopted the “5+2” on-site presentation + defense mode, that is, the contestants reported their papers and works in 5 minutes, the judges commented and asked questions in 2 minutes, and finally the judges scored with a combination of assessment criteria. In this presentation, there were five majors, including environmental design, interaction design, visual communication, journalism and communication, and music, with a total of eight venues, 305 teams, and 625 contestants.
After three to four hours of intense and orderly defense, the presentations were successfully completed at all venues. From unique and creative animated short films to interesting and vivid graphic posters, from delicate and unique humanistic concerns to rational and rigorous scientific and technological issues, the students' research content was novel and diverse, showing their innovative spirit and forward-looking vision, and reflecting the characteristics of the School of Arts and Communication and the discipline features of China University of Geosciences.
The judges put forward many valuable suggestions to the students from the perspectives of paper specification, literature review, research methods, literature citation, etc., which provided ideas and directions for the students to further improve their works played an inspiring and guiding role in their academic papers writing.
At the end of the presentation, the judges made a summary speech and pointed out the highlights and shortcomings for the teams and works. After all the activities, the judges and students took a group photo. The 33rd Student Science and Technology Paper Presentation of the School of Arts and Communication came to a successful end.
The successful holding of the Science and Technology Paper presentation is inseparable from the joint efforts of all teachers and students, which includes the careful teaching of professional teachers, the serious preparation of participating students, and the silent efforts of all staff behind the scenes. It is believed that this event will further improve the academic level and innovation ability of our students and inspire them to reach the top and achieve better scientific achievements in the future.
