School of Arts and Communication Holds a Sub-Forum Event of CUG Forum for International Young Scholars

(Reported by Zhou Hua) The 8th “CUG Forum for International Young Scholars” of China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) was successfully held on May 20, 2022. A large number of outstanding young scholars focused on “Beautiful China and Habitable Planet” and participated in the main forum. In this context, this School held a sub-forum event on the morning of May 24. Members of the Party and government leadership of the School, the heads of the Department of Landscape Science and Department of Journalism and Communication, and three outstanding young scholars attended the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Guo Xiurong, Secretary of the Party Committee.

First of all, Gui Yuhui, Dean of the School, extended a warm welcome to the three young scholars attending our sub-forum and introduced the basic situation of the School. Then, Zhang He, a young scholar from the University of Florida, Yang Shuai, a young scholar from Zhejiang University, and Wu Xuan, a young scholar from the National University of Singapore, introduced their current study, research and work situation one after another. The heads of the Department of Landscape Science and Department of Journalism and Communication had a cordial conversation with the three young scholars about possible future teaching and research work. Finally, Secretary Guo Xiurong made a concluding speech, expressed her gratitude to the three young scholars for their attention to the School, and asked the heads of the departments to further communicate with the young outstanding scholars and cooperate in the introduction of high-level talents.
