School of Arts and Communication Holds the Student Leaders Symposium for Celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the Founding of the Communist Youth League of China

 In order to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Youth League of China, on the occasion of the May 4th Youth Day, the School of Arts and Communication held a symposium for student leaders to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Youth League of China in Conference Room 1209 of the School at 4:30 pm on May 3. The leaders and teachers who attended the symposium include Guo Xiurong, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Arts and Communication, Bian Jianhua, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the School, Shan Tianyi and Chen Xi Liang, counselors of the Student Affairs Leading Group, part-time counselors and student leader representatives of the Graduate Student Association, Student Union and Party Building Office of the School. The symposium was hosted by Shan Tianyi, Secretary of the Youth League Committee of the School.

  First of all, all stood up and sang the Communist Youth League song; then, all participants studied and watched the video of General Secretary Xi Jinping's visit to Renmin University of China, fully feeling the General Secretary's sincere teachings to the youth.

  After that, Yu Yue, Chairman of the Graduate Student Association, and Li Yiping, Chairman of the Student Union, presented the results of their work in the year 2021, fully demonstrating the working spirit of the Graduate Student Association and Student Union of this School. Then, representatives of student leaders made speeches, and actively made suggestions on the work of the Graduate Student Association and Student Union in combination with their own experience and feelings.

  At the symposium, the party committee of the School expressed high expectations for the youth and was very concerned about their growth and development. Bian Jianhua, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the School, delivered a speech in combination with the learning contents of the conference. He hoped that the young students of the School would further study Xi Jinping thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era, establish lofty ideals and goals, actively approach the party organization, and be the disseminator and practitioner of aesthetic education based on their majors.

 Finally, Guo Xiurong, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School, made a concluding speech. She pointed out that young students should cherish their youth, grasp their time on campus, aim high, study hard, strive to enhance their abilities,carry forward the CUG spirit of “hardworking and plain-living, being realistic and pragmatic”, and take up the responsibilities of the times. She also emphasized that young students are at a critical stage of growth and development. In particular, they should lay a solid foundation of thought, establish good values, firm ideals and beliefs, and be the reserve force of the new era with both morality and ability.

At the end of the symposium, all members recited the school song - "Song of the Exploration Crew" and took a group photo.
