The First “Beautiful China, Habitable Planet” Hubei Popular Science Micro Video Creation Competition

I. Competition Theme

To deeply study and implement Xi Jinping's thought of ecological civilization, further strengthen citizens’ environmental awareness, advocate healthy living for all, adhere to green development, and turn building a beautiful China into citizens’ conscious action, China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) and Hubei Association for Science and Technology have decided to jointly hold the “Beautiful China, Habitable Planet” Hubei Popular Science Micro Video Creation Competition, which aims to prosper the science popularization creation in Hubei Province, innovate the way of science communication, and promote citizens' awareness of ecological civilization and scientific literacy.

  III. Event Schedule and Awards

   May 15 - September 15 for the collection of works;

 Late September for the evaluation of works;

Early October for the announcement of award-winning works.

  IV. Theme of Works 

 Creation theme: Beautiful China, Habitable Planet

   Works can be created around the contents of "ecological civilization construction", "harmonious coexistence between man and nature", "saving resources and protecting environment", "disaster prevention and mitigation", "green development ", and "low-carbon lifestyle".

  V. Category of Works  

  The entries include popular science animation, popular science propaganda and education films, popular science MV, science fiction microfilm and other popular science short videos. The length is generally no more than 8 minutes, and short and precise is encouraged. Entries should be accompanied by creative descriptions and shooting scripts.

  Work requirements:

  1. The content of the work should not violate the laws and regulations in force in the People's Republic of China.

  2. The works must be relevant to the theme, with correct orientation, healthy content, high scientific nature, closeness, innovation, modernity and artistry, public welfare, interest and popularity, and good communication power.

  3. The work must be original to the author, without copyright disputes. If any plagiarism or copyright infringement is found, it will be disqualified from reporting and awarding. In case of copyright disputes, the applicant shall be responsible.

  4. The video files should in MP4 format with a resolution of not less than 720P.

  VI. Awards

  After evaluation by experts, the first prize, second prize, third prize and excellent work prize will be selected, and all winning works will receive corresponding certificates.

  VII. Participation Method

  In principle, offline registration is not accepted for the competition. Participants should upload the “Competition Registration Form” (Annex 1) together with their works to the email kjcbxh@163.com before September 15, 2022. The competition organizing committee reserves the final interpretation right of this competition.
