“We thank the School of Arts and Communication for sending high-quality aesthetic education teachers to the China University of Geosciences Affiliated School, and hope to continue to support the construction and development of the affiliated school in the future.” Mr. Zhang Ruisheng, secretary of the Party General Branch of China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) Affiliated School, said excitedly while sending a banner to Guo Xiurong, secretary of the Party Committee, and Gui Yuhui, Dean of the School of Arts and Communication.
In order to thoroughly implement the spirit of the document "Opinions on Strengthening Aesthetic Education in a New Era" of the Central Government, the School of Arts and Communication has actively carried out aesthetic education in recent years, conducted multi-level and multi-faceted exploration of aesthetic education practices, and established a special aesthetic education practice center in 2021, which has made outstanding contributions to the construction of campus aesthetic culture.
On July 24, 2021, the General Office of the CPC Central Committee and the General Office of the State Council issued the "Opinions on Further Reducing the Homework Burden and After-School Training Burden for Students in Compulsory Education", and China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) Affiliated School has earnestly implemented the "double reduction" work and carefully organized a series of art "second classroom" to reduce the heavy homework burden and after-school training for students in compulsory education and to create a good educational ecology. In this process, there was a shortage of art teachers. After learning about this situation, the School of Arts and Communication took the initiative to contact and give full support to the school, led by Ms. Yu Min from the Department of Music, and selected 7 outstanding students from the Aesthetic Practice Center to undertake the teaching task of the "second classroom" for a total of 224 hours for 4 months. Choral rehearsal, music initiation education, music appreciation and other courses have been offered to enable primary school students to cultivate a beautiful heart and promote the growth of personality through the aesthetic classroom, and to stimulate and awaken the children's musical talent through various forms of music art. The class effect has been highly praised by the leaders, students and parents of affiliated school.
The School of Arts and Communication will continue to support the construction of the "second classroom" of the affiliated school, and the Aesthetic Practice Center will send 7-10 excellent students to teach every semester. The two sides plan to build a “Aesthetic Practice Base of the School of Arts and Communication”.
