(Reported by Zhu Huan) According to the notice of the university on the first teaching observation month, in order to further create a good atmosphere for teachers to actively participate in the undergraduate teaching classroom and give full play to the leading role of excellent teachers, this School carried out excellent classroom teaching observation and demonstration activity at 2:00 pm on December 9 in classroom 1104. The leadership group team and representative of teachers from all department of the School attended the activity which was chaired by Yang Zhe, Deputy Dean of the School.
The lecturer of this excellent classroom teaching observation and demonstration activity was Ding Jie, associate professor of the Department of Journalism and Communication. Ms. Ding has won the first prize of the 11th Teaching Competition for Young Teachers of CUG and the third prize of the Literature and History Group in the 7th Teaching Competition for Young Teachers in Colleges and Universities of Hubei Province.
The course "Broadcast News Business" taught by Ms. Ding Jie is the main course of Radio and Television Studies. In the course of teaching, in combination with her more than ten years of first-line practical experience in journalism, Ms. Ding used multiple methods integrating online and offline to give full play to the advantages of the school-media collaborative practice teaching base, and to focus on cultivating broadcast journalism compound talents with a solid Marxist outlook on journalism. The audio works of many students are broadcast on the provincial platform, many works have won provincial competition awards, and the course teaching has achieved practical results. In the observation and demonstration, she selected the teaching clip of "Broadcast Live Reporting" and gave a detailed explanation from concept, principle to method layer by layer, and used a large number of China Journalism Award cases to support the explanation of the principle and enhance students' understanding of the course theory. The course teaching focused on giving full play to the main role of students, setting up classroom discussion at difficult points to arouse students' thinking, and setting up case explanation and course practice at key points to improve students' understanding and practical ability.
After the class presentation, there was free communication and sharing on site. All majors shared the teaching contents and achievements in combination with their professional characteristics in a free and warm atmosphere, and the activity was a complete success.
Finally, Guo Xiurong, secretary of the party committee of the school, summarized the observation activities. She proposed that the School should use this activity as an opportunity to carry out more levels of teaching seminars and observation demonstration activities to further enhance our teachers’ teaching ability and business, especially young teachers.
