Two music works created by Chen Ruihao, a young teacher of our college, were broadcast on CCTV

On July 30,2021 and August 7, 2021, the pipa Quintet “If I Were In the South” and the pipa Capriccio Promise” created by Chen Ruihao, a young teacher of the Music Department of this School, were played in "Fenghua national music" column of CCTV 15.

Dr. Chen Ruihao graduated from the composition department of China Conservatory of Music and studied under Professor Shi Wanchun. His works often cross and integrate Chinese traditional music elements and pop music elements, and his works show a combination of Chinese and Western styles.

The pipa Quintet If I Were In the South is inspired by the country blues music originated in the southern United States in the early 20th century. The works has the sound characteristics of a combination of China and the West. It is made for Pipa Quintet chamber music and played by Yang Jing Pipa Chamber Orchestra. This work has won the silver award of the single instrument group in the 2021 "Dunhuang Award" new works exhibition of Chinese national chamber music, and the gold award of the 2021 "Yungang Cup" national instrument performance ensemble.

Pipa Quintet “If I Were In the South” played in CCTV

The pipa Capriccio Wuji is intended to express the state of mind born of nothingness and detached from the world. The work was performed by Dr. Chen Suchao, a young Pipa player who won the gold medal in 2009 CCTV national instrumental music TV competition, Dr. Liu Yu, a young erhu player who won the gold medal in 2009 CCTV national instrumental music TV competition, and Wang Xie, a young zither player who won the gold medal in the second Hong Kong International zither competition.
