September 23, 2021

(Correspondent: Zhou Hua) Recently, the National Office for Philosophy and Social Sciences publicized the art projects supported by the National Social Science Fund of China in 2021, and the Project “Value Interpretation and Collaborative Path Research of the Rural Planning of Cultural Landscape Heritage Sites” applied by Associate Professor Xu Qing of the Department of Landscape Architecture of our school was approved.

In the context of local culture and specific heritage sites, this topic sets up an rural values interpretation framework for cultural landscape heritage sites at the methodological level, and conducts an in-depth investigation on the villages in cultural landscape heritage sites in China, so as to refine the mechanism of dynamic association between villages of heritage sites and their natural environment, and then construct a cooperative multi-value rural planning strategy for cultural landscape heritage sites. The research results will establish a joint point between “interpretation of local values” and “World Heritage Standards”, enrich and deepen the connotation of China’s cultural landscape heritage, and provide support for telling “Chinese stories” well on the World Heritage platform.

It is reported that this is the second time that Mr. Qing Xu has been successfully granted the project supported by the National Social Science Fund of China. “Research on the Protection and Development of Ethnic Cultural Landscape in Southwestern Poverty Areas in the Process of New Urbanization”, the National Social Science Fund project approved in 2014, has been successfully concluded at the end of 2019, and the project is rated as good.
