A Strategic Cooperation Agreement on University-Media Collaborative Education between This School and Yidian Information

(Reported by Ding Jie and Zhang Jiao)  On April 15, the signing ceremony for strategic cooperation in collaborative education between School of Arts and Communication of China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) and Yidian Information & Media Convergence Development Forum were held in the meeting room of Arts and Communication Building Media Building. Du Yonghai, Vice President of INSUN China & General Manager of Wuhan Branch, Guo Xiurong, Secretary of the Party Committee of this School, Deputy Dean Professor Zhang Meizhen, Associate Professor Yang Zhe and teachers and students of Department of Journalism attended the ceremony.

Talents are the inexhaustible power and source of cultural development and innovation, as well as the core of culture. In the new era, to promote the in-depth convergence and development of media and vigorously cultivate innovative media talents, it is necessary for the university and the media to collaboratively innovate education model and form a joint force in education. The contentgeneration driven by AI is gradually forming a new content ecology. Under this background, how can the journalism education in universities better match the market demand and cultivate media-oriented and composite journalism talents? Department of Journalism of this School continues to explore innovative paths for university-media cooperation.

At the ceremony, Guo Xiurong, the Secretary of Party Committee, on behalf of School of Arts and Communications,  and Du Yonghai, the Vice President of INSUN China & the general agent of Yidian Information, signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement on university-media collaborative education. Professor Zhang Meizhen, the deputy dean of this School, issued a letter of appointment to Du Yonghai as a guest professor .

The Secretary  Guo Xiurong said that the cooperation in collaborative education with Yidian Information was very meaningful. She hoped to seize this opportunity to further promote the exchange and cooperation between this School and the new media and collaboratively cultivate talents that are suitable for the market in the future.

After the signing ceremony, both parties held a media convergence development forum. Both teachers and students of Department of Journalism and Mr. Du Yonghai had a discussion on media development and talent demand in the new era.

Mr. Du Yonghai elaborated on the development trend and the demand for talents of the new media industry. He believed that user operation and digital intelligence operation would be the two major development trends in this field in the future. The professional direction of journalism and communication should be based on job requirements and make reasonable choices. The students should find the correct orientation, improve themselves, and realize the matching of the abilities with the market.

Professor Zhang Meizhen believed that the lively practice from the industry shared by Mr. Du Yonghai not only inspired and guided the students of Department of Journalism, but also put forward thoughts on how to better integrate journalism education into the needs of the industry.

At the meeting, the students of Department of Journalism also asked Mr. Du Yonghai for advice on how to obtain effective intelligent feedback in the digital marketing process and the interdisciplinary integration and cross-learning in the new media era. The students exchanged enthusiastically and the atmosphere was lively.

    In recent years, Department of Journalism has established strategic cooperation in collaborative education with Li Video, Hubei Radio and Television, and Yidian Information, which has greatly expanded the university-media collaborative education ecosystem. At present, the cooperation has made outstanding achievements and played a positive role in supporting discipline construction and talent training.
